Description

A seldom seen model 1877 Springfield Trapdoor carbine.  The gun has all the correct features for this scarce model, including a course checkered hammer, a low arch breechblock, a flat barrel tenon, a front sling swivel and a short wrist stock.  The rear sight is stamped with the letter ”C” which denotes that it is a carbine.  Within the sliding door of the butt compartment is the original cleaning rods and a shell extractor.

Condition: Overall a good untouched example – Iron parts have a nice dark age patina – Stock has many nicks and bruises, but has not been sanded or refinished, and retains a great age patina – Markings are clear – Bore has some roughness – Action is tight and crisp
