A nice Manhattan Navy type .36 caliber percussion, 5 shot revolver with a desirable 6 1/2″ barrel.  Manhattan Fire Arms took advantage of Colt’s patent for revolving firearms, as it was about to expire, in 1857.  It is a series three variation, serial number 34904, with walnut grips and silver plated brass triggerguard and backstrap.  The cylinder engraving depicts military and Naval scenes.

Condition: Barrel retains approx. 80% original blue – Cylinder has a full scene and a nice plum blue/brown patina – Brass retains approx. 30% original silver plating – Grips retain most of a re-varnish – Loading lever, frame and hammer show considerable original case hardening – Nice bore with some staining – Action very crisp
