A vibrant color lithograph by Frank Tenney Johnson (b.1874 – d.1939), titled “Somewhere on the Range”. This was the last painting he did before his death. The Certificate of Authenticity is included with this print. It reads, in part, “is a high quality antique from the Estate of the legendary western painter…..These magnificent works of art were first printed and distributed by Western Lithograph Co. of Los Angeles, California in 1938. The estate of Frank Tenney Johnson in cooperation with Huss Publishing Co. is now issuing the remaining collection of these antique lithographs from the original “Calender Edition” contracted between the Artist and Western Lithograph Co. in 1937….” . This print is numbered 126 of a limited edition of 250, and is authorized by the Frank Tenney Johnson Estate. The original price of $385.00 is stamped on the backing to the print, where we have slipped the certificate into a plastic sleeve. The wood frame appears to be original to this print. Unfortunately the photograph does not do the print justice, because of the glass. The colors are exceptionally vibrant.
