A nicely cased pair of Durs Egg flintlock dueling pistols. Both pistols are engraved and have gold lined flash pans. The touch holes are platinum lined. The barrel addresses, barrel bands, and front sights are all gold inlayed. The plain oval plaques, at their upper wrists, are also gold. “D. Egg” is inscribed on each of the lock plates. The barrels are octagon with horn tipped wooden ramrods, under each. The walnut stocks are checkered at their grips. The pistols are in a beautiful hardwood case, that is of later manufacture, with antique brass hardware, including a very unique folding handle in the case lid. Within the case is an iron, round ball, bullet mold and a wooden ramrod with a brass tip enclosing a ball puller screw.
