A “Dragoon” size, Allen & Thurber pepperbox pistol. It is a lightly engraved six shot revolver. It has a sharp drop walnut grip with two silver oval inlays, one inset on each side. The left side of the bar hammer is stamped ”ALLENS PATENT”. One barrel flat is stamped ”ALLEN & THURBER WORCESTER” and another is stamped “PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL”. It was made in Worcester, Massachusetts, using the 1845 patent design.
