Description
A beautiful pair of solid brass U.S. Military Officer’s stirrups with eagle motif rosettes. Very possibly from the early 1800’s up to and including the American Civil War period. The footpads are iron with brass overlays, uniformly chiseled to create a barbed surface, for extra grip of the boot. The eagle motif rosettes are wonderfully detailed with a wreath of flowers and leaves around each one.
Overall Height: 5.06″
Overall Width: 5.41″
Condition: Nice mustard color aged patina – 1.75″ section of brass overlay is missing on one iron stirrup footpad
