Description

A nicely furnished I. Andreas Kuchenreuter flint pistol.  The iron barrel is inlaid with a gold proof mark and a silver inlaid address.  It is slightly swamped, and the bore is rifled.  The barrel tang is marked “2”, so this gun was probably one of a pair.  There is a two leaf rear sight at the breech, and the touch hole appears to be platinum lined.  The lock is marked “I. CHRI. KUCHENREITER”.  The fancy mountings are brass and the ramrod is wood with a horn tip.  The nicely figured walnut stock is relief carved and has a horn fore end cap.
