Description
An original, hand colored, lithograph of the Union General Ambrose Everett Burnside. The image was engraved by D. Stodard, from a Mathew Brady photograph. The artist framed the portrait within a patriotic oval with and eagle at the top, holding an olive leaf wreath, perched above American flags. There is also a small panel scence, below the portrait of Military Officers, about to shake hands, with their troops assembled behind them. It is dated 1862, and is framed in a Civil War era, walnut frame with its original wavy glass.
Frame Dimensions: 13.40″ x 11.30″
Litho Dimensions: 9.50″ x 7.40″
Condition: Litho is very good with only minor acid/age stains – Frame is nice with a few nicks and marks, and still retains its original cedar wood backing and glass (a bit of matching stain would hide many of the frames marks)
