Description
An antique, flattened horn, powder flask with a dog’s head motif carved at the spout. The carved hardwood base is secured by wood pegs. The inset eyes of the dog appear to be carved from a light colored horn.

Condition: Good aged patina all over – Some minor damage from horn beetles and one missing peg from the base – A 2″ hairline crack, on the back edge, but no losses – Horn is split at the top of the dogs nose, with a small loss of about 1/4″ x 3/8″ – Body of the horn is lightly scratched and scuffed, from use – Stopper is missing
