prototype gunsmith over-under rifle shotgun tip down action back action locks unmarked

Rifle Shotgun Combination Gun

Maker: Unknown

SKU: S228 Category:

Very unusual, possibly prototype over / under rifle shotgun combination gun.  It has a tip down barrel, back action locks, and double exposed hammers.  The wood stock has a checkered pistol grip and a rifle style butt plate. We have been unable to find any markings on the gun, or another like it.  We feel it was built around 1880.  It was once in the Frank Seller’s Collection, and was sold, after his death.

Caliber: .40 Rifle / 16 Ga. Shotgun / Both Cartridge

Overall Length: 49″
