Description

An antique leather scribe made by the C.S. Osborne & Company of Newark, New Jersey.  The Osborne Co. started business in 1826 in Harrison, New Jersey.  They are still in business, today.  The tool is stamped on the end of the slide with the company name, and the number 18 is stamped in the underside of the brass body and the opposite end of the iron slide.  The brass and walnut handle is curved to fit one’s hand nicely.

Condition: Brass has a very nice dark age patina – Wood is very good with only very minor marks – Iron parts are a medium grey color with scattered pitting
