A good honest 1873 Trapdoor Springfield rifle with all the correct 1st model features.   Its early features include a long wrist, a high arch breech block, a flat barrel tenon and a one piece front sight.  It has three sling swivels and circled “P” proof mark stamped in the walnut stock, just behind the trigger guard.  Its upper breech area is stamped ”MASS”, and it still retains its iron ramrod.

Condition: Nice untouched condition, never cleaned or sanded – Iron has a good honest grey/brown age patina – Stock has several small dings, a large set of dings under the lock plate, on its right side, and a large chip missing on the left side at the muzzle end – Action is good – Bore has good rifling with some staining
