Description
An 1822 pattern British military sword. It is all iron mounted with a ray or shark skin wrapped grip. There are three strands of twisted brass wire also wrapped around the grip. The blade has a quill or pipe back with etched motifs on both sides. It still retains its original iron scabbard with 2 sword hanger rings.

Condition: All iron parts were cleaned, years ago, and now show areas of pitting – Grip retains its original wire wrap and approximately 90% of its ray or shark skin wrap – Blade etchings are weak but visible – Scabbard is dented near the tip, on each side
