Description

A fine antique, 17th century, wheellock combination powder flask and wrench. The body is a formed flattened horn with carved decoration. All the hardware is iron.

 

Overall Length: 12″
Width at Base: 4.125″

 

Condition: Face of horn body has a 1″ crack, at the top, and both front & back each have a crack, at the bottom, one of which has been partially filled with a piece of horn or bone showing the proper age, a .75″ area of damage or flaw is near the wrench escutcheon, on the back side – Belt hook, charging lever, and belt ring are all replacements – Spring for spout lever is broken, missing about .25″ of the spring – all other iron parts are a wonderful dark, aged patina
